[AUDIO] 5 Steps Ahead : Swizz Beats vs. Kno
written by QN5 on Jul 23, 2008
After releasing Natti’s “Ruled The World [VLV Remix]” in June (which had Kno chopping up the Coldplay hit “Viva La Vida” into a hip-hop bounce track) on this very blog, the promotional single spread like wildfire on the internet, popping up everywhere from the front page of Okayplayer.com to HipHopDX.com and other mainstream hip-hop websites and garnering tens of thousands of plays.
Fast-forward to July 21st, and the one and only Swizz Beats is getting heavy spins on New York mainstream radio with his new promotional single entitled “That Oprah”, which has Swizz (you guessed it) chopping up the Coldplay hit “Viva La Vida” into a hip-hop bounce track.
Swizz Beatz – “That Oprah” [Produced By Swizz Beatz]
Natti – “Ruled The World (VLV Remix)” [Produced By Kno]
Natti’s song, a twist on the original Coldplay concept, is commentary on the decline of the “One Trick Pony” rapper who only raps about drugs and money. Swizz Beatz’ song is about…money.
Swizz even built the beat up from the actual song at the beginning, too. Nice.
Enjoy!
