And the winner is…

Yeea, its ya boy Session, what’s good what’s good. So yo, as ya’ll know by now we just dropped the QN5 – Baby Blue For Pink EP and I’m just gonna take a little bit of time to talk .. Eerr “blog” about it and shit.

It’s crazy how last minute a lot of these compilations get put together that we do. It seems we thrive when we got a fucking gun to our heads and shit. I literally wrote and recorded “The Letter” the same day… Tone re-mixed the beat and mixed and mastered it the next day… and the very next day everything was submitted to the higher ups to actually put it in the digital stores. The same goes for ALL the songs on the EP. Shit, I STILL haven’t heard Cashmere’s joint cuz when I was sent all the songs that were supposed to be submitted that shit didn’t even exist! Someone definitely pulled a 28 hour work shift for THAT.

I’m really happy with how this whole EP came together tho. My personal favorite has got to be “Digital Video” by Mr. Sos with CunninLynguists and SunnyStylez.. Kno on that hook is genius.

I’m glad people are really feeling “The Letter” too. Funny story – I recorded that song to another beat because the project was so last minute that Tonedeff didn’t even have a beat for me. So I just laid my two verses and left the rest up to him. The next day he had a hook, a whole new beat.. And the entire song mixed. Poor Tone musta been up all fucking night, only for me to be like “I don’t like it”. Haha. I was just used to the original beat and how I flowed to it, naw mean? I’m also not used to rocking over mellow shit. Anyway, Tone assured me the shit was hot and it kinda grew on me after a while (plus I had no fucking choice) so I just let it rock. I’m glad I did, I love that shit now.

We also had some other titles we were throwing around for the EP for a bit. Kno thought up “VD EP” which I thought was hilarious and genius. That IS one funny white guy. Tone had “The Five Heartbeats” but Kno fucked it up with the last minute homerun to win the game with that 6th song. Lol. I had a bunch I thought were winners too.. “I Love Me, Too”, “Box Of Talkolates”, and “Heart Murmurs” I’m sure the team had a bunch more I didn’t even know about. The title we got is perfect tho.

Anyways, yeah, I been reading the reviews and I’m happy. Everyone came off. Just know, I got a million concepts myself. They just come out of everywhere. My mind works so fucking crazy. Pack’s “Plucking Daisys” hook was my idea ;-) That shit is hot. (yea slut, I own you!) Nah, just joking, we all help each other out (Tonedeff actually wrote the whole “Chea” hook and just basically made the song so all I had to do was RAP.) Spicasso is gonna have a very healthy dose of concepts tho. Like, almost the whole album really. I really can’t wait for ya’ll to hear this shit.
