Dare To Dream. You’re Only 1 Idea Away From It All.

Minutes before I sat down to write this blog I had my eyes closed trying to envision what the future of music would be like. No, not the sound or style of music (well, maybe a little), but the way in which it ultimately gets to your ears. The music industry is changing so quickly and actually HAS already changed, it’s just settling itself down now figuring out what works and what doesn’t. I read somewhere that music was going through a depression. That comment is dead on. The people that were able to accumulate real estate during the Great Depression made a great fortune later on. Well, I’m trying to buy a couple thousand acres.

Forbes just recently released it’s yearly list of billionaires (Bill Gates dropped to third!!) and on it was a guy by the name of Mark Zuckerberg. At 23, he may be the youngest self-made billionaire in modern history. He is the creator of facebook.com. 23 and a billionaire, damn! A self-made one at that, much props. If it isn’t him, it’s Tom, or it’s someone else. Music is a big part of what makes sites like facebook, myspace, imeem, last.fm, etc work. Everynight I sit and imagine what the future would look like. What’s next? Let it be noted that their were more billionaires from other countries this year than ever before. There’s money to be made! I feel like I’m at the cusp of some great (and obvious) idea, it’s right at the tip of my tongue and every time an upstart service like Digiwaxx or Play MPE comes about I’m like DAMN! Great idea!

There’s an intricate formula out there waiting to get solved to reveal the latest and greatest idea. It has to do with music, and the internet (duh!). We at QN5 have always prided ourselves with utilizing the internet in original ways before a major even sniffed at it.

By now you should know that the Euro is worth 33% more than the U.S. Dollar. Also, Europeans seem to embrace and support independent music more than Americans. The time is right to use U.S. Dollars to make something to sell in Europe, where you’d get more for the dollar, no?

I’m not a college man, I just use logic to put shit together, so maybe there’s just something I’m not understanding or missing here. The next great idea is waiting to be created, and with music changing so much and in need of a new business model, I’d put the house up it’s gonna have something to do with it. It’s right on the tip of my tongue.
