[RANT] “Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys??”

I have a friend named “P”. Not “Throw a TV at you, crazy” P. Not Master P. Lets call him “Louisville P”. He is a record collector and dealer, and he owns a 2-story home filled with some of the most sought after vinyl gems on the planet, as well as two of the chunkiest cats I’ve seen since Tonedeff’s. I was introduced to him by the Record Vulture and Mykraphone Mike, and since then he has helped fuel some of the best instrumentals I’ve released in the past 2 years, including about 3-4 songs on Dirty Acres.

The fact that he allows us to come into his home, set up the PT-01 and treat his humble abode like candy store is a testament to his awesomeness. I’m not sure how many other producers know about the house in Louisville, other than DJ Shadow. That alone should show you the caliber of little black discs “Louisville P” is dealing in. Quality over quantity. 2 or so rooms full of ever-evolving goodness.

So, this post is just a short, long-overdue shout to the man I like to call “Louisville P”. Thanks for the hospitality.

Son…the shot of that room makes me giggly inside. I want to go! I want to go! I got some stacks, as does any producer worth their salt, but I can barely imagine the level of ridiculousness those shelves contain. Like…that’s an entire catalog’s worth of ridiculousness. hahah

Do they have a refer-a-friend plan?

Wow.

Even though I’m personally keeping both of my local second-hand stores in business with my digging, I don’t think their collection of records is quite as extensive as this Louisville P’s.

I’ll trade some 80’s Serbian pop for a day trip to this wonderland. The music is beyond torture, but the cover totally makes up for it.

man, i dream of one day making connections like these and finding a records haven like this. just to think of it, DJ Shadow and Kno both go to this place! one day….Louisville P, ill be knocking on your door!

Those pictures are photoshopped!!such a place doesn’t exist-only in the mind of a wishful dreamer is there a house that is better than most used record shops(and I should know this)and a man who holds it down like some kinda record pimp-stop telling these stories kno-you just getting people all rilled up about something that isn’t there at all.I mean it.for real.Doesn’t exist.
