Substantial breaks QN5 on MTV. Marvel with us.

For those of you who haven’t been able to catch Substantial’s “It’s You (I Think)” video during one of its airings on MTV2, here’s a capture that Kontrast hooked up. (Props homey!) So, now you can bask in the MTV2 logo and credit slides in all their broadcast glory.

The video itself looks fantastic on the big screen – props to Matt Hobbs & Cael over at VitalFilms for the good work. For those of you who haven’t caught one of the airings, today’s the last ‘official’ day to catch it live. They will probably play it on the 4:30 PM slot, but 8 PM is up in the air. They ran it TWICE yesterday, so there’s a good chance they might do it again today. Regardless, we’re happy for the spins.

Watching this video actually air on MTV2 is an extremely proud moment for me. Sure, it’s not a “Tonedeff” video (in time folks!), but it’s a QN5 video – and to me…that’s just as important. Substantial & I have put alot of time, effort and scrilla into this project and breaks like these really let us know that we’re onto something, which is always reassuring when you’ve had the doors slammed in your face as many times as we have as a collective. This is proof positive that anything is possible with enough talent and determination. Remember, we’ve been at this FOR YEARS and we’re just NOW getting this kind of break. So, personally – I see this is a well-deserved little victory for all of us and a big victory for Substantial. May it be the first of many to come.

So, What’s Next?

So, the video plays…then what? Well, unfortunately the SuckerFreeBlog.MTV.com hasn’t been updated in a month – whereas the rest of the site has been. We’re desperately looking for a place that we can direct the blue schoolers to so that they can show their support. As of right now, we’ve been directing folks to tips@suckerfreeblog.com, but we’re assuming blog comments will work as well. We just wish there was a proper spot to post them.

We’re hoping they put the video up in their voting block, which will allow us to push the video into the Sucker Free countdown. If this happens…I know we can count on all of you to push us even further. So, it’s no wonder why we break our backs for the fans.

In the meantime, we’d like to thank everyone for their support thus far and we look forward to blowing this thing up as crazy as we can. We’ll keep you posted on any further developments.

Hollerate!
